Our Specific Digital Gravity Balance provides a simple and quick mean to read directly the specific gravity of rubber and other elastomers. Thus Specific Digital Gravity Balance reducing labor and eliminating calculations. The time taken to find out specific gravity of a sample is only about half a minute. The balance consists of a rigid scale with a specific gravity (SG) printed on standing vertically on a heavy base plate. To the center point at the scale, through jewel bearings to minimize the friction, a balancing arm is pivoted. At one end of the arm, two stainless steel pins are hanging with yarns. One of the pins is attached to glass jar kept on the base. A guard is provided to avoid accidental falling of the jar during use. At the other and of the balancing arm a pointer is fixed which indicates the specific gravity of materials under test. A sliding weight is also provided for initial balancing of the sample of different weight a leveling of the base plate. Two models of balance, one with a range of specific gravity between 0.9 to 3.0' the second with a range of specific gravity / between 0.2to2.0 are available. A sample of any shape weighing between 5 and 12g can be tested in the first model, that weighing between 3 and 5g can be tested in the second model, and that weighing between 1and 2g can be tested in the third made. In the case of the second and third model, the lower pin is quite heavy and also acts as a sinker. Also in Specific Digital Gravity Balance models, the glass jar is kept on the base of a frame, which can be slid up and down on a rod fixed to the base plate to cover the full range at specific gravity.

From 2.0 to 2.5: graduated in division of 0.02
From 2.5 to 3.0: graduated in division of 0.05

In the case of a model with range 0.2 to 2.0 SG scale is calibrated as under:
From 0.3 to 0.8: graduated in division of 0.005
From 0.8 to 1.5: graduated in division of 0.01
From 1.5 to 2.0: graduated in division of 0.02

In the case of a model with range 0.05 to 0.7 SG scale is calibrated as under:
From 0.05 to 0.1: graduated in division of 0.001
From 0.1 to 0.2: graduated in division of 0.002
From 0.2 to 0.4: graduated in division of 0.005
From 0.4 to 0.5: graduated in the division of 0.01.
From 0.5 to 0.7: graduated in the division of 0.02.

Our Din Abrasion Tester is designed to determine abrasion resistance index of natural and synthetic rubber in accordance with the above principle. Din Abrasion Tester consists of test specimen holder with a cylindrical opening adjustable between 15.5 to 16.3 mm to clamp the test specimen with an arrangement to adjust the length of test specimen protruding out. The holder is mounted by a screw mechanism along a length of a rotating drum on which the abrasive cloth is fixed. The movement of the screw mechanism and drum is given by an electric motor, gearbox and chain mechanism to give the specified speed of rotation to the drum and the specified lateral movement to the test specimen holder. The swivel arm and test specimen holder are so disposed that the test specimen is pressed against the drum under the specified load with its center axis at an inclination of 3 degrees to the perpendicular in the direction of rotation and placed above the longitudinal axis of the drum. A rack and pinion arrangement to rotate the test specimen about its axis during the test (whenever desired) is also provided. The abrasive cloth is firmly fixed to the drum using a suitable peelable adhesive with the ends of the abrasive cloth butt jointed together. The equipment is provided with limit switches which, in addition to giving over travel safety to the movement of test holder by preventing the lower edge of the test specimen holder to touch the abrasive cloth. The equipment is built on the rigid steel base and finished in gray metallic and bright chrome/zinc plating to give it a corrosion resistant finish. The molding dies, rotary type cutting dies (hollow drill) for preparing test specimens and extra abrasive cloth are available as optional accessories.

The oscillating Disc type Rheometer is an efficient, simple and reliable testing equipment. It is quite easy to operate. The Rheometer describes precisely and quickly curing and processing characteristics of vulcanizable rubber compounds. It works on a very simple principle. A test piece of rubber compound is contained in a sealed test cavity under positive pressure and maintained at a specified elevated temperature. A Rotor ( biconical disc )is embedded in the test piece and is oscillated through a small specified rotary amplitude. This action exerts a shear strain on the test piece and the torque (force) required to oscillate the disc depends upon Stiffness (shear modulus) of the rubber compound.
